We are never actually bored while travelling. But you probably know the following thought (like us) - what shall we do? Sometimes it's great to just stare at the sea, grab your book or play out Instagram but holidays are also a time when you really spend some time together. So how fun is it when you really experience an evening together? Exactly, a lot of fun! Games are therefore always a good idea to bring along on a trip! We can spend hours at the table with friends, family or just the two of us. We have therefore compiled a list of the most fun travel games for 2 people or more. It is important to us that the games are compact, cheap and easy to play. Check out our list and pick your favourite!


Travel games are available in different shapes and sizes. You can choose from card games, dice games and tactical games. We have tried many games over the past few years and have listed the most fun ones. They are all quick & safe to order online, compact and easy to take with you when travelling. In addition, they are suitable for 2 people but can easily be joined by another person. Ideal for travelling, at home or on the road.

1. An inexpensive travel game for 2: Uno

Uno, one of our favourites! It is an ideal travel game as it is compact, cheap and perfect to play with the 2nd person or a whole group. Uno is a card game where you have to clear your cards as quickly as possible. You do this by placing a card of the same colour or symbol on the pile. Don't know the game yet or want more explanation? 2. Earthworms

The game Earthworms is another easy game. You can play this game in pairs or up to seven people. The goal is to collect as many earthworms as possible. This game makes for exciting and funny moments as you snatch earthworms from your fellow players. There is now also a expansion pack of this game available!

3. Clever

This game is not that well known yet. Clever, comes in a slightly larger box but is still suitable to take on trips. The great thing about Clever is that you make your own score sheet. As a result, every game is different and you can play this game endlessly. The game is suitable for 2 to 4 persons.

4. Our favourite travel game: Qwixx

Qwixx, another simple but fun travel game for 2 people. The game comes in a small box containing a score pad and 6 dice. Ideal for your backpack or that empty corner in your suitcase.

In Qwixx, you get to use every throw so you never have to wait your turn! The more numbers you tick on your score sheet, the more points you get. You can also expand the game with Qwixx Mixx.

5. Beaver Gang

Beaver Gang, the game that involves tactics and memory. Each player has four cards in front of them, only two of which may be viewed. On each turn, you draw a card and an action follows. The goal is to finish with as few points as possible. Cheap, simple and also fun in larger groups.

6. Skip-Bo: One of the most famous travel games for 2 people

Skip-Bo, is one of the best-known card games for two or more people. At the start of the game, each player is dealt 30 cards that must be played away as quickly as possible. You can get quite cross with each other in this game which makes for hilarious moments. The game consists of only cards and is packaged small.

7. Exploding Kittens, a unique travel game for 2 people

Exploding Kittens is fairly unique compared to the other travel games. Although we think the name sounds a bit ‘nasty’, the game is fun to play. You can compare this game to Russian roulette and it is easy to play and understand. What makes this game so fun are the different cards and the speed.

8. The mind

The mind is a card game where you play not against but with each other. We are both competitive but sometimes it is nice not to be each other's competitors. You play together in this game and there is no winner or loser! The aim of the game is to put the cards in the right order without consulting each other or seeing your cards.

  • Age: 12 - 99
  • Playing time: 30 minutes

9. Dobble

Dobble, is a smooth card game which is suitable for all ages. The aim of the game is to clear all your cards. You do this by being the first to recognise the corresponding symbol. Each round remains exciting, as there is only one other card to put on the pile. The game is simple so everyone can play along easily and quickly. Ideal for in a hostel & guaranteed to be hilarious!

10. Phase 10, the ideal travel game for 2 people

Phase 10, is a card game making it easy to take with you when travelling. The idea is to achieve a certain card combination each round to be allowed to move on to the next phase. The player who achieves all phases first wins the game.

11. Doodle City

Doodle City, is a dice game. Each round the dice are rolled. Then each player gets to choose one and it is decided which square to draw. The aim of the game is to score the most valuable buildings.

12. Twenty One, a compact travel game for 2 people

The game Twenty two can be compared to Qwixx. Each player is given a unique score sheet on which there are five horizontal rows. These rows must be filled in one by one from top to bottom. Once these are filled in, the game ends. The game is simple and everyone participates every turn.

13. Jatten

At the game Jatten the idea is to steal cards. Sounds easy and it is. This game makes for hilarious and frustrating moments. Delightful! The goal is to be the first to collect six cards of the same value!

14. Cow Trade Master Card Game

Cow Trade Master, can be compared to quartet. You collect as many farm animals as possible during the game. You win the game by collecting as many of the same animals as possible. But... other players may also take your cards!
