Koh Phangan in Thailand is an island full of palm trees and white beaches surrounded by clear blue sea. There is a relaxed atmosphere and plenty to do. The island is best known for its full moon parties but there is much more than that. Fair is fair it wasn't our favourite island but definitely worth a visit. Beaches on Koh Phangan, Thailand
If there is one thing this island does not lack, it is beaches. Despite only being on the island for a short time, we were able to see an awful lot. Long live the scooter! In addition, we received many tips from people who have visited this island before. If, like us, you are only on Koh Phangan for a short period of time, it can be difficult to decide where to spend your days. We have therefore listed the 6 best and most mentioned beaches on Koh Phangan to help you choose.

1. Bottle Beach
This beach requires a bit more effort than the rest to reach, but it is well worth it. Unfortunately, we did not visit this beach ourselves but heard an awful lot of positive stories about it. Next to the beach, there is a cool viewpoint that we will definitely visit next time. Check out this handy online blog (in English) about bottle beach and the viewpoint.
2. Hin Kong Beach - Sandbank
While touring Koh Phangan, we drove past Hin Kong Beach. What immediately caught our eye were the drones taking to the air there. We had no choice but to park our scooter to take a closer look. During low tide, a large sandbank appears in the water, off the Mama Kop restaurant. Besides being able to take super cool photos here, it is also a lovely place to lie on the beach for a while.

3. Leela Beach
Although Leela Beach is in the busier part of the island, this long stretch of paradise definitely deserves a spot as one of Koh Phangan's best beaches. We recommend bringing some food and drinks and spending the day under the trees on the beach.
3. Haad Mae Beach & the island of Ko Ma
Our absolute favourite is Haad Mae beach. Besides being a very beautiful beach, it also has a sandbank! The sandbank runs from Haad Mea beach to the island of Ko Ma. We have visited this beach several times and each time we thought; WOW. Because of the sandbank, the beach does get crowded. However, if you walk all the way to the left (away from Ko Ma) you may have the beach all to yourself. Plus, you can do some really good snorkelling here! So it's the ideal place for a beach day.

5. Malibu Beach
Another cool beach on Koh Phangan is Malibu Beach. This beach is distinguished by the shallow sea surrounded by mountains.
6. Salad Beach
Finally, we recommend going to Salad Beach. This was our favourite beach for sunset. Once the sun goes down, restaurants set up tables on the beach, making it a cool place to have a nice meal!
