Best travel time for the United Kingdom
The UK and rain go hand in hand, and yes, this is actually true all year round. But don't let this stop you!
In the summer months July and August you can expect a temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius but unfortunately so also a lot of rain. The best travel time in terms of climate and temperature are therefore the months May and June.
Visa to the United Kingdom
You will only need a visa if you stay in the UK for more than 180 days. For shorter stays of up to 6 months, there is no visa requirement, but there are a few things to consider.
To travel to the UK (including Scotland), you need a valid passport. Dutch ID cards are no longer accepted.

In addition, you have a ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) required for stays of up to 6 months. This is a digital travel authorisation that you apply for no later than 3 days before arrival via the official UK ETA app or website.

Time in the UK differs 1 hour from the Netherlands all year round. This is because in the UK they also work with summer and winter time with the clock being set one hour forward in summer. Nice and easy!
