Feed to and in Italy
Planning your transport to and in Italy is easy. In fact, there are several options to choose from!
Plane: With numerous international airports spread across the country, flying is the most obvious choice for many travellers. Opt for major international airports like those in Rome, Milan or Venice , or go for regional airports like those in Florence, Pisa and Naples. This allows you to reach almost anywhere in Italy quickly and comfortably.
Train: Maybe not the first thing you think of, but you can also take the train to Italy! Just check the NS site and look for a train ticket that suits you.
The train is also an excellent option within the country, thanks to the extensive rail network that connects major cities such as Rome, Milan and Florence. This is a convenient and comfortable way to travel long distances while enjoying the beautiful countryside. Moreover, there are regional trains that take you to picturesque towns and villages, giving you an authentic Italian experience.
Rental car: Want to have a bit more freedom and flexibility? Then renting a car is an excellent option. With companies such as Sunny Cars you can easily book a reliable hire car and explore the many attractions at your own pace. Whether you want to drive along the beautiful coastlines of the Amalfi Coast, meander through the picturesque Tuscan hills, or discover the hidden gems of the countryside, with a hire car you have the freedom to go wherever you want.
With these various transport options, nothing stands in your way of making it an unforgettable trip.
Best travel period for Italy
We touched on it briefly above but a bit more information is never wrong. Whether you want to ski in the Dolomites, have a glass of wine in Venice or just enjoy the Italian sun. Choose the travel period that suits you best for an unforgettable trip.
High season (June-September): The weather in Italy varies by region and season. Summers are the perfect time to enjoy the beaches in coastal areas but this is ok directly the high season. So prepare for the crowds.
Intermediate seasons (March, April, May, October, November): The in-between seasons of spring and autumn are, in our opinion, the best travel period. During this period, the weather is ideal for a short city break or nice walk through the Italian vineyards.
Low season (November-February): Winter is a great time to visit the north (especially the Italian Alps) if you like winter sports. Venice, Milan and Rome can be a bit chilly, but are just as enchanting and less crowded. Ideal for those on a smaller budget!
