How to get to Annecy?

Annecy is located in south-eastern France close to the border of Switzerland and Italy. This makes it ideal to combine with a road trip through France or Italy. With the car it is about a 10-hour drive (1,000 km).
Would you rather go with the plane? Then opt for a flight to Chambéry-Savoie Airport. This small international airport is used by Transavia, among others, for holiday flights to the region.

During our road trip, we ended up in Annecy. A beautiful city in France with cool sights. The city is ideal for a short holiday or stopover but also for several days. We have listed a number of sights for you.

Lake Annecy

You absolutely cannot miss this lake and it is undoubtedly the highlight of Annecy. Surrounded by high mountains with white peaks, the lake has something magical about it. In summer, you can choose from various water sports activities here.

Annecy castle - Palais de I'Isle

This castle comes from the 12th century and is one of the city's most famous buildings with an impressive history. The castle now houses a museum where you can learn all about Annecy.

Bridge - Pont d'Amour

Close to Palais de I'Isle is the Pont d'Amour, a unique and beautiful spot in Annecy. It is also called the bridge of love. From the bridge you have a beautiful view over the lake.

Castle - Château d'Annecy.

Another historical landmark is the Château d'Annecy. This castle is located on a hill giving you great views over the city. You will find various exhibitions inside the castle. Do you have more time? Wandering around Annecy city
