1. Travelling from Singapore to Malacca by bus
The bus is one of the most chosen and cheapest ways to travel from Singapore to Malacca. This is therefore the reason we chose this option. Several buses depart daily from various locations in Singapore, such as Queen Street Bus Terminal and Golden Mile Complex, to Melaka Sentral, Malacca's central bus station.
- Starting points: Queen Street Bus Terminal, Golden Mile Complex, Boon Lay, and other locations.
- Arrival: Melaka Sentral Bus Terminal
- Travel time: About 4 to 5 hours, depending on traffic and border crossing.
- Price: Ranging from SGD 26 to SGD 44 (€12 - €30), depending on the bus company and how luxurious you want to sit there!
- Tickets: Easily booked online via 12GoAsia.
We recommend travelling with 707 Inc, KKKL Express and Transtar Express. These are reliable airlines with many good reviews. We also recommend booking online in advance, especially on weekends and public holidays, to avoid disappointment.
Tip: Preferably leave in the morning (between 08:00 and 10:00) to avoid the crowds at the border crossing
2. Travel from Singapore to Malacca by private transfer
For those looking for a bit more luxury and convenience, a private transfer is a good choice. This option offers door-to-door service, picking you up at a location of your choice in Singapore and taking you directly to your accommodation in Malacca.
- Travel time: About 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and border crossing.
- Price: From SGD 240 (€160) per car for a one-way trip.
This option is ideal for families, groups or if you are travelling with a lot of luggage!
3. Travelling from Singapore to Malacca by train
Although there is no direct train connection between Singapore and Malacca, you can take the train to Tampin (Pulau Sebang), the nearest station to Malacca, and then take a taxi or bus to the city centre.
- Route: Singapore - Johor Bahru - Tampin - Malacca
- Travel time: About 9 to 10 hours, including transfers and waiting times.
- Price: From SGD 10 (€7), excluding the cost of taxi or bus from Tampin to Malacca.
We recommend this option only if you want to make another stopover somewhere.
