Go sailing in Croatia, a great way to discover the country!
Sailing may not be the first option you think of, but it is a great way to explore Croatia. The places Sibenik, Pula, Trogir and Skradin are easy to reach by sailboat and you can enjoy a day wandering through the various villages along your route. And that... while enjoying unique views and taking a dip in the clear blue sea along the way. You can of course sail on your own, but even more fun is to do it with a group. You can arrange that via Tubber.
Through Tubber, you then rent a couple of sailboats with a group and then take to the water as a group. Flotilla sailing in Croatia is highly recommended. Of course, you may choose to take the helm yourself, but it is also possible to book a skipper. Then you will be sailed around in a relaxing way and have all the time you need to take a good look at all those beautiful spots. In the evening, you end the sailing trip with a snack and a drink with the group, and toast to a fantastic holiday.
So there are several possibilities and options available even with a smaller budget. Whether you go with friends, family or with a group of other travellers, this is an experience to remember.

Discover Croatia at your own pace by car or motorhome!
Those wanting to see more of the interior can discover Croatia by campervan or car. BTW, this option is also ideal to combine with a sailing trip! We travelled around by motorhome and loved that we could explore the country at our own pace. This is because you then also have the choice to stop along the way at that one little bakery on the corner, that waterside terrace or at one of the beautiful viewpoints.
You can choose to rent a car or travel to Croatia from the Netherlands. In our blog to Croatia by motorhome, we share information on the distance, the best travel route and an overview of our travel costs. This gives you a good idea of the costs for environmental stickers, vignettes and toll roads, allowing you to assess your holiday budget in advance.
Tip: Want to rent a car? Then choose a well-known organisation. We always rent a car through Sunnycars because you are fully insured here.

Discover Croatia by train
Perhaps the first question is; is it advisable to travel through Croatia by train? After all, the country is not directly known for its extensive train network. That does not mean there is nothing beautiful to see by train. In a six-hour train journey, you can travel from Zagreb to Split and encounter a lot of beautiful places along the way.
Those wishing to travel to Croatia by train from the Netherlands should expect a train journey of around 20 hours. An overnight train departs daily from Munich to the capital Zagreb. On board the night train, you have several compartments where you can sleep. From Zagreb, you then have the choice to travel on to other cities such as Rijeka and Split on the coast.
Still, we have to say that sailing and a car or motorhome rental are better methods of exploring the country. Anyway, the option is there so mostly see what suits you!

We hope this gives you a good idea of the possibilities. Whether you choose an adventurous sailing trip, a relaxing car ride through the beautiful countryside, or a unique train trip, Croatia has something for everyone. Still have questions? Then you can always send us a message via Instagram.
