Best travel time and climate
When you travel to Egypt, of course you want the weather to be nice, recognisably, because for a good downpour you might as well stay in the Netherlands. The best travel time for Egypt is in our winter and spring. This is because Egypt has a desert climate, which means there are big differences in temperature between day and night and between summer and winter. In addition, you can clearly distinguish between two seasons: the hot summer of May to October and the cooler winter of November to April.

Must-see locations in Egypt
As we mentioned earlier, Egypt has an impressive history and an extraordinary culture. These following must-see locations are not to be missed, at least as far as we are concerned.
Visit the capital Cairo
A trip through Egypt is not complete without seeing Cairo. Cairo, is the chaotic capital but rich in history. It really feels like going back in time as you see donkey carts driving along the dusty roads.
Explore culture, markets and local cuisine. Tour the world-famous museums, mosques and churches and discover how diverse this metropolis is. Buildings from the various Pharaohs, Greco-Roman, Islamic, Christian and also from modern times can be found in Cairo. In short, there is plenty to see and do in this vibrant city. It is not for nothing that the famous German tour operator quotes: No trip to this country is complete without a stay in the city Arabs call Umm al-Dunya (the mother of the world). We recommend spending at least two full days in the city.
Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx
The Pyramids of Giza are one of the world's oldest surviving wonders. The pyramids are over 4,500 years old and absolutely impressive to behold. Let's just say; they knew how to impress in those days because it is definitely a feat of engineering craftsmanship. The Pyramids on the outskirts of Cairo served as royal tombs for pharaohs to transition to the afterlife. In any case, one thing is for sure, you will want to see this with your own eyes.
Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the worst crowds. We also recommend visiting these sites with a local guide. They can tell you an awful lot and give fascinating insights into the history and construction of these ancient structures.
Temple of Karnak in Luxor
Another place not to be missed is Luxor. Some call Luxor the largest open-air museum in the world with its well-preserved tombs, monuments and temples such as that of the world-famous pharaoh Tutankhamun! Located on the banks of the Nile, the ancient city is undoubtedly one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt. Also in northern Luxor, you will find the impressive temple complex, Karnak. The temple is dedicated to the gods Amon, Malt and Chons.
Tip: We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing plenty of drinks.
Relaxed beach holidays in Egypt
After a day or several days of serious history, impressive pyramids and 10,000 steps, a relaxing day at the beach is absolutely deserved! Located on the Red Sea, Egypt has a number of beautiful beaches. Think Marsa Alam with clear and calm waters, the coast of Sharm-el-Sheikh or the secluded beaches of Sinai. Choose a hotel, flat or resort near or on these beautiful beaches. This doesn't have to be expensive either, as there are often interesting last minute egypt offers.
